Firm’s Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility among 20 D.C.-area candidates aiming to raise $1.2 million for LLS National Capital Chapter in just 10 weeks.

Washington, D.C. – May 6, 2013
MorganFranklin Consulting, a leading business consulting and technology solutions company based in McLean, Va., and London, announced today that Jeana Foster, the firm’s Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), has been named a candidate in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) National Capital Chapter 2013 Man & Woman of the Year campaign. Foster is one of 20 candidates in the Washington, D.C., area vying to collectively raise $1.2 million in just 10 weeks in the fight against blood cancer.

Foster will raise funds through donations, sponsorships, in-kind opportunities, and events in honor of the 2013 LLS Boy & Girl of the Year, Reed Switzer and Madison Nardi, young survivors of blood cancer. In this spirited competition, each dollar donated counts as one vote, and the titles are awarded to the man and woman who receive the most votes at the conclusion of the 10-week campaign. The top local fundraisers in the country win the national titles.

“I am excited to have been given this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help more than one million Americans living with blood cancers,” Foster said. “This cause has always been close to my heart. I lost my beloved grandmother, Belinda Doheny, to leukemia in 1999. To be able to do this in her honor means more to me than words can express.”

Foster has been actively involved with various charities for more than 15 years, beginning her career as Director of Special Events with the American Cancer Society before working for the American Heart Association and Greater Washington Sports Alliance. Since joining MorganFranklin in 2008, Foster has utilized her experience and enthusiasm to build a strong charitable culture and company-wide passion for volunteerism.

“MorganFranklin Consulting has a long history of supporting LLS, and we are honored to support Jeana Foster as a candidate for Woman of the Year. We applaud her exemplary fundraising efforts to help the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in its mission to improve the quality of life of patients and their families,” said Ashley Baquié, Vice President of Human Resources at MorganFranklin Consulting.

The 2013 campaign kicked off on March 28, as candidates gathered their top supporters and campaign teams to rally for the 10-week drive. The top male and female fundraisers will be named Man & Woman of the Year at the Grand Finale Gala, held at The Ritz-Carlton in downtown D.C. on Saturday, June 8.

Now in its 22nd year, the Man & Woman of the Year campaign is one of Washington’s top fundraising events. With campaigns running in more than 70 cities nationwide, the National Capital Area Chapter aims to be the top fundraising chapter in the country for the 11th year. Last year, the chapter set the record for the most funds ever raised in the campaign, collecting a staggering $1 million.

All donations are 100% tax deductible and are due by June 7 to count toward the campaign. To read more about Jeana Foster’s campaign or to make a donation to LLS, visit her campaign website.
