Washington, D.C. – January 13, 2015
Decorated FBI Agent and nationally recognized interviewing and interrogation expert Charles E. Price II has been appointed Managing Director at MorganFranklin Consulting, a D.C.-based execution-focused business consulting firm and professional advisor. Price joins the firm’s growing Corporate Investigations & Dispute Solutions practice, bringing more than 28 years of FBI experience conducting successful investigations of significant white-collar crimes.
“On behalf of the entire MorganFranklin Consulting organization, I am thrilled to welcome Charlie to our firm as an integral leader in the Corporate Investigation & Dispute Solutions practice,” said Eric Reicin, Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of MorganFranklin Consulting. “Both a savvy investigator and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Charlie brings a proven track record of unraveling complicated financial transactions, and he has built his name on resolving complex investigations fast. Charlie is a breath of fresh air in the world of investigations and an expert in the ‘art of interviewing.’ His diverse skill set will have an immeasurable impact on clients who turn to MorganFranklin to investigate, contain, and resolve time-sensitive corporate and government investigation matters.”
Throughout his FBI career, Price led numerous high-profile national and international investigations, resulting in more than 100 felony white-collar crime convictions and more than $115 million in losses prevented, fines, recoveries, and restitution. Among his numerous career highlights, Price served as lead investigator on prominent criminal cases involving corporate fraud, money laundering, bribery, public corruption, bank and insurance fraud, extortion, and embezzlement. The victims in Price’s cases faced both internal and external threats, and he successfully investigated a wide variety of sophisticated targets, including senior corporate executives, attorneys, and CPAs.
Price was able to resolve complex matters quickly and obtained national recognition for developing and implementing creative, target-specific interview and investigative strategies to obtain signed-statement confessions from a diverse range of subjects, including confessions that were instrumental in convicting two sitting members of Congress. In 2011, Price received the FBI Director’s Award for Excellence in HUMINT (Human Intelligence), the bureau’s highest award, for interviews and interrogations he performed on classified national security matters while deployed to Afghanistan.
Price also served on the FBI Director’s Special Agent Advisory Committee, developing pragmatic solutions to numerous enterprise-wide policy and operational issues. He was an adjunct faculty member of the FBI Academy and provided instruction on interviewing/interrogation and investigation of complex financial crimes to the FBI, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE), federal prosecutors, and both the U.S. intelligence community and its international partners.
Price received more than a dozen Outstanding Public Service Awards from U.S. Attorneys’ offices and numerous commendations and awards from the FBI Director for excellence in investigation. He was also selected by his peers as the first recipient of the Brian K. Due Award for “dedication to duty, professional excellence, and sterling character.” Price served as an Assault Team Leader on the FBI’s Washington Field Office SWAT team, and he was a firearms instructor for more than 20 years. Price deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan, where he provided support to various U.S. military units on classified operations.
“Whether trying to protect a country and its citizens or a company and its shareholders, decision makers need useful and reliable information that is provided in a timely fashion and presented in an easily understood manner,” Price said. “I have a proven track record as an FBI Agent of acquiring information that protected my fellow citizens and our country. I look forward to working just as hard to protect MorganFranklin’s clients and to ensure that their leaders get the information they need to make good decisions—ones that protect their employees, products, and brands.”
Price holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the College of William & Mary, and he is a licensed CPA in Virginia. Prior to joining the FBI, Price served as a CPA at Arthur Andersen & Co., performing financial statement audits in the financial services industry.
