Jared Benedict

Jared Benedict has over 17 years of experience providing regulatory compliance, risk management, and financial reporting support. He serves within MorganFranklin’s accounting & transaction services group, where he assists clients with public company readiness, business combination, audit readiness, IPO/de-SPAC transactions, and on-demand technical accounting engagements. Jared is a trusted advisor, specializing in guiding his clients through the application of new and/or complex accounting guidance, challenging financial statement audits, SEC reporting matters, and private company financial reporting matters. Jared takes pride in his willingness to “roll up his sleeves” to ensure that his clients’ needs are met.

Prior to MorganFranklin Jared  spent seven years with Big 4 accounting firms. As an audit manager at EY, he worked extensively with the national office to document the firm’s position on the application of accounting principles for complex business transactions. As a transaction services manager at KPMG he focused primarily on the quality of earnings and the proper application of accounting principles by the companies being targeted for acquisition.

Over the past several years Jared has provided technical accounting and valuation services for large, publicly held clients in multiple industries. During that time he has documented numerous position papers on the application of the new revenue accounting standard (ASC 606), the new lease accounting standard (ASC 842) and documented multiple business transactions (ASC 805), among others. He has also assisted multiple clients in establishing and testing their internal control framework in accordance with COSO, remediating identified control deficiencies and documenting the impact of accounting changes and error corrections.

Jared holds a B.S. in accounting from Bringham Young University and is a certified public accountant.
