Annual charity golf tournament raising funds for injured and recovering military veterans to be held on August 27, 2012, at The Courses at Andrews Air Force Base.

MorganFranklin Corporation, a business and technology consulting firm that delivers financial management, performance improvement, and national security solutions to industry and government clients, today announced that it will host the eighth annual MorganFranklin Golf Classic benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project on Monday, August 27, 2012, at The Courses at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. Proceeds from the charity golf tournament will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), a nonprofit organization that assists men and women of the armed forces who have been severely injured in conflicts around the world. To date, the MorganFranklin Golf Classic has raised more than $480,000 in cash and in-kind contributions for the WWP in support of its mission to honor and empower wounded warriors.

MorganFranklin was the first company to partner with the WWP for a charity golf tournament. Today the annual event is one of the most prominent tournaments in the D.C. metro area. WWP members and wounded warriors also compete in the tournament each year, helping to raise awareness for the organization’s mission. More than 48,000 service members have been physically injured in recent military conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. From battlefield to bedside, the WWP meets the needs of service members who have suffered traumatic injuries that often force them to retire from military service. Offering a variety of programs and services, the WWP is equipped to serve warriors with every type of injury—from the physical to the invisible wounds of war.

The MorganFranklin Golf Classic features 18 holes of golf on two courses, as well as various contests. Space is limited for this premier golf event, and players must register by August 17, 2012. The tournament begins at 2:00 p.m. on August 27. Following play, MorganFranklin and its tournament sponsors will host the 19th Hole Awards & Dinner Reception and silent auction.
