D.C.-area consulting firm among 351 winning workplaces nationwide recognized as leading employers of choice for excelling at creating effective and flexible workplaces.

Washington, D.C. – June 2, 2016
MorganFranklin Consulting has been honored with the 2016 When Work Works Award in recognition of the firm’s use of effective workplace strategies to increase business and employee success. The prestigious award, part of the national When Work Works project administered by the Families and Work Institute (FWI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), recognizes employers of all sizes and types across the country. MorganFranklin, a leading business consulting and technology solutions company based in the Washington, D.C., area, has been a repeat winner of the award, formerly known as the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility, for more than a decade.

“MorganFranklin Consulting is thrilled to be named a 2016 When Work Works Award winner and leading employer of choice for our effective and flexible workplace,” said Ashley Baquié, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at MorganFranklin. “We are honored that our organization ranks in the top 20% of employers nationally in terms of our programs, policies, and culture. And what makes this honor especially valuable to us is that the results were backed up by our own employees through a survey. This award is further proof of our firm’s commitment to building an exceptional workplace by continually investing in employee health, well-being, and engagement.”

The When Work Works Award is the result of a rigorous two-step selection process involving an evaluation of employers’ programs and practices and a confidential employee survey on the key ingredients of an effective and flexible workplace. All applicants are measured against national norms from two representative studies—the National Study of Employers and the National Study of the Changing Workforce. Applicants are then evaluated on six research-based components: opportunities for learning, a culture of trust, work/life fit, supervisor support for work success, autonomy, and satisfaction with earnings, benefits, and opportunities for advancement. The survey examines the real-life experiences of employees at their worksites as opposed to companywide policies.

“The 2016 When Work Works Award winners confirm that leading employers are continuing the movement toward effective workplace strategies that benefit both business and employees,” said Lisa Horn, Director of SHRM’s workplace flexibility initiative. “These innovative strategies are what set these organizations apart, allowing them to attract and retain top talent, giving them a competitive advantage.”
