MorganFranklin Consulting, a business and technology consulting firm that delivers financial management, performance improvement, and technology enablement solutions to industry and government clients, announced the promotion of Jim Burns to Managing Director. In this role, Burns is responsible for leading MorganFranklin’s technology risk practice, which specializes in achieving integrated risk and compliance programs that deliver increased transparency, accountability, and cost effectiveness to clients. Drawing on 26 years of experience in technology consulting, Burns has extensive experience driving operational growth, maximizing the benefits of adopting technology, and enabling organizational change in both the public and private sectors. His management experience includes leading regional and national consulting firms, and extensive interactions with board of directors and executive management across a spectrum of subject matter including: accounting, information technology, risk, and internal audit.

During his tenure with MorganFranklin, Burns has led multiple IT analysis projects to develop financial, operational, and strategic investment plans for IT service delivery organizations. He has also led enterprise technology risk transformation projects to improve the transparency of CIO risk environments, including the alignment of IT service risk to business risk and the quantification of risk tolerance.
Prior to joining MorganFranklin Consulting, Burns spent 18 years at Deloitte, most recently as a Principal in their security and privacy practice, responsible for implementing global operational and technology risk and compliance programs. Prior to Deloitte, Burns founded a CIO transformation consulting firm, where he identified and led global transformational projects.
