Nymion, a data privacy firm based in Montreal, has partnered with US management consultancy MorganFranklin Consulting to offer comprehensive data privacy and cybersecurity solutions in Montreal and across Quebec.
Founded in 2021, Nymion is a boutique consulting firm with approximately four professionals, according to LinkedIn. The new firm relies on an alliance model to serve its clients. Nymion’s partner companies, which include market leaders in data privacy law, cybersecurity, and privacy software, have a combined 9,800 professionals, $900 million in revenue, and 3500 clients.
Nymion’s data privacy services include assessments, design, integration and deployment, support, and risk and compliance.
Nymion has now allied with MorganFranklin Consulting, a large US-based management consulting firm. Together, the companies will provide end-to-end service in data privacy strategy, technology, and delivery solutions. They will also provide compliance assessments, architectural IT design, deployments, and integrations.
The alliance will allow Nymion to better support clients in meeting their compliance obligations related to Quebec Bill 64, which is mandating greater protections for personal information and privacy. Under the new law, non-compliant companies could face fines of up to $25 million or 4% of their worldwide income for the preceding fiscal year. Consumers affected by a data breach could also be entitled to $1,500 or more per person.
“Designing blended data privacy and cybersecurity solutions is all about collaboration,” said Andrew Philippakis, managing partner at Nymion. “Forging key partnerships with a global powerhouse like MorganFranklin Consulting allows Nymion to harness the strengths and abilities needed to meet the complex challenges facing our clients today. This partnership reinforces our commitment to offer best-in-class products with cradle-to-compliance turnkey solutions.”
Headquartered in Washington DC, Morganfranklin Consulting has more than 500 professionals across eight US offices. The firm delivers services in accounting and risk advisory, technology and enablement, cybersecurity, transaction services, and strategic transformation and program execution.
“MorganFranklin Consulting’s collaboration with Nymion will provide specialized services previously untapped and empower our shared clients to protect their data and systems with the best talent in the market,” said Michael Welch, a managing director in MorganFranklin Consulting’s cybersecurity practice.
The increasing collection of consumer data in our digital era and a rising number of data breaches, as well as consumer anxiety around the safety of their personal data, has caused governments across the globe to respond with more stringent regulatory regimes. Some of the more notable and stricter laws include Europe’s GDPR and California’s Consumer Privacy Act.
