Gabriel Schram
Cybersecurity Analyst

GREAT TEAMS START WITH GREAT PEOPLE.

Meet Gabriel Schram.

What is your role at MorganFranklin, and what do you do?

I work in the Strategy and GRC pillar of MorganFranklin as a cybersecurity analyst. I am utilized in a variety of different areas, such as third-party risk management, compliance, and operations strategy.

What appealed to you about a career working in cybersecurity?

I found myself consistently reading articles and books related to the field of information security, hacking, and cyber intelligence. This eventually led me to taking an ethical hacking course online, and at that point I was hooked. I started looking into master’s programs related to cybersecurity and researching the best ways to break into the industry.

How has leadership at MorganFranklin kept you inspired in your role?

From day one I was trusted with real tasks that contributed to projects and client engagements. I am presented with stimulating challenges that allow me to apply what I know while being provided the opportunity to continually learn and build my skills in cybersecurity. Looking forward, this will allow me to be more versatile and contribute more to team projects.

What does a typical day look like for you and what are you currently working on?

My current projects require a variety of tasks that change daily. However, a few consistent tasks include active monitoring of clients’ cloud environments, project security reviews, third-party risk assessments, and information gathering to improve overall security posture and operational strategy of client infrastructure.

What has been your favorite MorganFranklin project, and why?

I am currently working with a client that is in the process of a transitional services agreement (TSA). Our team is helping this client create their entire information security program. This has exposed me to several different components of enterprise cybersecurity. Engagements such as this present the challenge of aligning various timelines in parallel with the desired outcome of a cybersecurity plan consistent with industry standards.

Before working at MorganFranklin, what was the most unusual or interesting job you had?

When I was living in New York, I managed a Taekwondo academy while going to school. This provided some valuable insight on what is involved when running a business in a major city, working with a variety of people, and managing employee and sales.

What is one unique thing that others may not know about you?

I’ve been training and competing in Muay Thai and Jiujitsu consistently for some time. I applied this same level of discipline to learning cybersecurity. I credit this consistency with the position I am in now.

If you could only choose one song to play every time you walked into a room for the rest of your life, what would it be?

“Attitude” by Bad Brains. It’s fast, loud, and all about positive mental attitude.

What is your motto or personal mantra?

Wake up every single day in a better position than I was in yesterday, even if that step is small.

Ready to take the next step?
Find the perfect position for you.
