MorganFranklin Names New Vice President, Federal Consulting
Peter Sobich Joins MorganFranklin Team
McLean, Virginia — January 26, 2007
MorganFranklin Corporation, a services and solution provider to business and government on complex and high-stakes finance, operations and IT issues, recently named Peter Sobich as the company’s Vice President, Federal Consulting. His responsibilities will include capturing opportunities in the federal market for all MorganFranklin areas of expertise, and strengthening the corporation’s brand in the marketplace.
Sobich brings extensive commercial and government experience to MorganFranklin. In his most recent position he served as Associate Partner, Business Development and Business Strategy with IBM Business Consulting Services, Federal Practice. His responsibilities included working with client account leaders to identify and capture business opportunities within federal agencies, directing proposal development efforts and building strong business relationships with senior agency leaders.
Sobich has also served as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Cabinet Secretary at The White House, Executive Office of the President, Office of Cabinet Affairs where on a daily basis he worked with senior agency officials on policy implementation with a focus on the economy, technology, trade and homeland security. As a Management Consultant and Service Area leader with IBM Business Consulting Services, Sobich worked with high-level public and private sector leaders on a wide range of management and organizational issues.
He also served as a Volunteer/Consultant for the Bush-Cheney 2000 National Presidential Campaign where he was part of a small team that managed the first presidential campaign trip of then-Governor Bush, and supported events including the Presidential Debates and Republican National Convention.
Sobich can also count film production as part of his career experience. He financed, developed, produced and marketed a feature film that appeared on Showtime. He was also Production Supervisor at Jerry Weintraub Productions, Warner Bros. Studios, and managed day-to-day operations of several $50- to $100-million studio productions.
Sobich, who holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington, Seattle, and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, began his career as a Presidential Press Aide at The White House, Executive Office of the President, Office of the Press Secretary, where he served as a liaison between the President and the national news media.
