FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EPA HF Radio Network Site Installation
Herndon, Virginia — January 9, 2006
MorganFranklin recently completed the installation of the inaugural site of the EPA's nationwide High Frequency (HF) radio network in Washington , DC . The inherent characteristics of this technology allow for both short and long-distance voice and data communications. The EPA will use this network as their primary means of communication during times of national emergency when other means (public switched telephone and cellular networks, for example) are incapacitated.
MorganFranklin utilized pre-purchased Codan HF radio equipment, and designed and installed the system (which consists of a 100-foot antenna on the roof, rack-mounted radio transceiver equipment on the top floor, and operator control equipment in the basement operations center) at the government site.
During the project debrief, the customer gave laudatory praise for MorganFranklin's quality, professionalism and creativity. Based on the feedback we received, we expect to be awarded a follow-on task to engineer and install the second site of the HF network at Ft. Meade , MD.
